Indian Christians Protest Against Modi After Nun’s Rape, Attacks

Christians in India said on March 16, 2015 Monday that the Hindu nationalist government of Prime Minister Narendra Modi had not done enough to protect their religion, after a spate of attacks including the rape of a 71 year old nun at the weekend. Christians prayed and held vigils across the country to protest against the rape during an armed assault on a convent school, the worst in a series of incidents that followers of the faith say are making them feel unwelcome in their own country. Father Savari Muthu, spokesman for the Delhi Catholic Archdiocese and a national Church organizer, said the government had not taken “concrete action to protect Christians.” “We have to raise our voice against the atrocities. Christians will not tolerate this humiliation,” he said, joining critics who say Modi has not done enough to ensure religious harmony in a country with a history of inter-faith bloodshed.

Opposition lawmakers in the upper house of parliament on Monday said the attack could damage the secular fabric of the country, where about a fifth of 1.27 billion people identify themselves as belonging to faiths other than Hinduism. The large majority of those are Muslims. Since December, half a dozen churches have been vandalized, at the same time as conservative groups have campaigned to convert to Hinduism members of “foreign religions” such as Islam and Christianity.

The attack has also intensified fears among the Christian minority after a series of vandalism and arson attacks on institutions mostly in Delhi since December, though the archbishop has stressed that the rally is not aimed at condemning any political party over the attack.

Priests and other Christian leaders have blamed those attacks on religious hardliners who have become emboldened since Hindu nationalist Prime Minister Narendra Modi swept to power at general elections last year.

Ugly play of Christian Missionaries revealed

On the name of a Nun’s rape in West Bengal the Indian Christian Bishops, Priests, Nuns, Media, Political leaders and intellectuals were fire against the Hindus and their leaders & organizations. They also used words against the Prime Minister Narendra Modi for this incident. Everybody are very clearly knew that the West Bengal is ruled by the Trinamool Congress under the leadership of a lady Mamta Banarjee. It is a matter of state. The investigations are done by the Bengal state police. In Bengal, every day there is reported so many rapes, lootings, murders, attacks etc. But the State Govt. & Police were did not take any strong actions to stop the illegal activities. Now the Christian priests and their leaders are using this incident to attack the Modi Govt. without any evidence. They also attack the Hindu leaders & organization. They are very clearly trying to spread the communal tension in India and defame the majority people in India. Missionaries in India were accepting huge funds from foreign countries and misuse this money to convert Hindus and creating mad propagandas against the Hindu culture, life, religion etc. It is the time to investigate and find out the anti-national elements in various religions, NGOs, Medias, Human Rights organizations, etc. Central Govt will take strong action against the religious leaders, who are spread bogus & fault allegations against the Govt. of India & its Prime Minister Narendra Modi. They are trying to spread the communal tension in all over the country on the name of small, local incidents.
